You missed us "BEST of Phoenix 2008".....

I am declaring now to the BEST of Phoenix 2009 that Barker Education should definitely be on the list of best small businesses to work for. This may seem a bit cocky, but I prefer to look at it as a sheer sign of confidence in the business I work for. For those, who don't know BEST, Kristen Grose sure does. Here's what she had to say....

Kristen Grose
Accounting and Administration Supervisor/HR Liason
BEST employee since 2007

1. Why BEST?
Definitely the family atmosphere. Since our staff is small, we are able to maintain a comfortable work environment that is focused on team work and positive energy. Not to mention, Bob (President and CEO) is amazing; a great person to work for.

2. What sets BEST apart from other companies you've worked for?
Three specific details come to mind. One, we have an incredibly diverse group of people working together, so each person brings something different to the table. Two, our main focus is on our clientele-meaning our students. We aren't concerned about enrolling a student into an online program just to receive a paycheck. We understand that it is costly and time consuming to attend school, so we want to make sure the student is enrolled into a program that they love and that they are going to complete successfully. Three, BEST works with not-for -profit schools which means that the students needs are always going to be met first and foremost.

3. Where do you see BEST going in the next few years and why do you want to be a part of it?
Our growth in the past three years has been tremendous and I only see us continuing down the same path. We have managed to satisfy our clients and help grow our client schools online enrollment base, while maintaining a small staff of under 40. I think that we will continue to work with not-for-profit schools and slowly build our staff over the next few years. I like working for a company that can maintain client/student success with such a small group of people. That goes to show that everyone we have on staff is important and is contributing. I want to continue being involved in helping students earn their degree and this is the place to do it.
